Why is pest control considered to be an ESSENTIAL business?
By now we have all seen and read all kinds of information pertaining to COVID-19. Some of us are looking forward to getting back to “normal” and others have not really been affected by the shutdowns. Our company is considered by the federal government to be an essential business. Our employees play a huge part in keeping the business running and our customer’s safety top priority.
So, what makes us an essential business?
Rodents and bugs can carry all kinds of diseases. Roaches can cause asthma attacks. Bees and wasps can sting causing allergic reactions that can be deathly in some people. The list of bad side effects of bugs can go on. At Advance Pest Control, we strive to help you control and maintain a healthy and sanitary home and/or business. Our goal is to help you control the presence of pests in your home and surrounding property. Pests do serve a purpose to our environment so we don’t necessarily want to eradicate them fully but, to deter them from your home to keep you and your loved ones safe. Your health and wellness is our top-priority. Therefore, we are an essential business.
Not only are the visible bugs and rodents able to cause significant health issues but, termites can cause costly structural damage to your home. We complete yearly inspections to monitor termite activity. This helps to ensure damage is minimal if termites become active. Pests do not care if there is a pandemic occurring. We are an essential part of the puzzle to keep personal health and home health safe during these unprecedented times.
What are we doing to keep you safe and our technicians safe?
We are taking precautions daily to keep you and our staff safe. Like many of you, our staff members are exercising social distancing and sanitizing our office and equipment more often. Our technicians are encouraged to wear protective gear like gloves, masks, and shoe coverings if we enter your home. We, also, give you the option to have just the exterior of your home treated so there is no person-to-person contact. Our office staff are trying to make sure all customers are aware of this option and making accommodations to help our customers feel comfortable with our service.
Plus, we are not penalizing our customers if they express concern with our technicians on their property during COVID-19. We understand your concern. We do, however, encourage our customers to continue any and all outside services during COVID-19 in order to protect themselves and their homes.
If you are due for your quarterly service or annual termite inspection, don’t hesitate to call us if you are concerned. We are here to answer your questions and hear your concerns. Stay safe! Stay healthy!
