Bees, hornets, and wasps are for the most part a very beneficial group of insects, being the major pollinators of flowering plants, helping to reduce the numbers of many insect pests, etc. However, these arthopods are responsible for approximately 22 deaths a year causing a large percentage of the human population to be are afraid them. Control should only be done where there is an immediate threat to people or their pets, or when a peace-of-mind is required. Here is a note from the owner of this bird house:
Bees, Hornets, and Wasps
“Just wanted to drop a note of appreciation for Donald. My girlfriend and I were removing our cats from the house when one of them escaped from its carrier. He helped us catch it, only to get bitten and scratched in the process (I feel terrible about this, but he took it in stride). He also gave me a couple bandaids from the first aid kit as I got cut up also. He really went above and beyond, so please give him a pat on the back from me when he gets to the office.
As always, I appreciate your service, and will let you know if we have any more flea issues.
